Random Ramblings:
Just had chills run down my back. The local classical station,
WCPE, just played “Thus Spake Zarasthustra”, better known as the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey. It always gives me goose bumps when I hear that song. Don’t know why, it just does.
We have to move my 12 year old J to another school. We had him enrolled in a charter school, but even after dropping him back to the 5th grade, he’s still struggling. I guess I’ll have to accept the fact that he’ll never be as smart as I would like him to be. I feel so bad for him, because he tries so very hard to please. Sometimes life sucks.
Woundwort has an absolutely hilarious take on raising a little girl. Since my little girl is now 25 years old, I can’t relate that well, but let me assure you, raising a house full of little boys (three at last count) is no bed of roses, either. Bathroom humor (and I mean that literally) is the funniest thing going at the asylum.
Meryl does her usual devastating dissection of anti-Semetism. I find myself agreeing with her on a regular basis, and I’m not even Jewish, although lately being a middle aged white male in America is almost as bad as being Jewish (and I don’t mean that in a bad way, I mean . . . ah hell, you know what I mean!)
Mike at Cold Fury has a little piece that his friend sent him from the backside of wherever about how effective massive firepower is against cowardly lone gunmen. Funny in a gruesome kinda way.
Work beckons, or rather, work yanks at my chain with enough force to break my neck, so guess I’d better get back to it.
